Bishopton School Capacity Crisis

Bishopton has been failed on adequate planning from the council for primary education with the need for a new school, and current plans are just to expand Park Mains High School in Erskine to cover secondary education capacity.

However, people feel locally that is going to be run into the same problems with estimated being too low for the growth that is happening in the area. Both in Dargavel and Erskine.

Renfrewshire Liberal Democrats want the council to look at seriously building a new campus for Bishopton to properly give school capacity for the area and for the Scottish Government to look at providing funding to support such a development like they have done for schools in other areas of Scotland such as Dunfermline.

The Campaign for a new Education Campus for Bishopton

The Renfrewshire Liberal Democrats are calling for there to be a new education campus for Bishopton allow for both primary and secondary capacity for the local area supported by the Scottish Government. It is a decisive solution that residents deserve over mistakes by the Council underestimating required places for primary education.
