Anne makes progress on road safety

Anne Hannigan has urged Renfrewshire Council to lead the way on road safety, following progress on 20mph speed limits, and calls for improvements on Brediland Road and Garry Drive.

Cllr Hannigan welcomed the news that speed cameras will soon be installed, saying, “I have pushed for better road safety for a long time, so it’s great to see that speed cameras will soon be installed on Brediland Road. “I hope my plea for enforceable 20mph zones during school hours will also be actioned, and a survey on Garry Drive will prove the need for measures here too.”

Cllr Hannigan also secured a speed survey on Corsebar Road following concerns from residents. Although the results of the survey did not justify actions being taken, some high speeds were acknowledged, with findings being passed to the police. Cllr Hannigan hopes that further investigation will be conducted as so many residents have seen high speeds here.
